The Barca organizing department is trying to find out a suitable partner for selling the permission to rename Camp stadium within the period of 1 year. The sum gained from this deal will all be donated to every campaigns to prevent Covid-19 by Barca Club.
The organizers of Barca confirmed to donate all the money gained from the renaming Camp Nou during 1 year to prevent the outbreak and spread of worldwide pandemic. Camp Nou is the biggest stadium in Europe with the capacity of 99.000 seats. Since being constructed and published in 1957, the stadium has never had any sponsor.
In an interview with AP, Vice-president Jordi Cardoner shared: “We wanted to send out a message to all the world that this will be the first time that someone’s name become the official name of such a fantastic stadium like Camp Nou. The revenue gained from this will be directly sent to people all over the world, not only Barcelona.”
“We came up with this idea in an emergency situation. We thought that Barca need to make such a quick reaction, bring the precious Camp Nou along the journey of overcoming this awful pandemic with the rest of world.”, he said.
Barca has made up the plan of renaming this stadium since the 2023-2024 season. The present champion La Liga is looking forward to gaining around 300 million euro in advance for a contract lasting 25 years. This sum will be used to upgrade the stadium as well as other facilities.
However, Cardoner claimed that selling the permission to rename Camp Nou stadium during the next year will be done independently and the deal will expire after 25 years as previously planned.
